NW Justice Forum Restorative Justice Awards

The NW Justice Forum is committed to recognizing those that have a imprint on the discipline of restorative justice and those the discipline serves.  We count on practitioners and agencies across the three participating states to bring these contributors to our attention through the awards nomination submission process described below.

Regional Restorative Justice Award

The Northwest Justice Forum will annually honor a person for Regional-State influence in restorative justice. Those recognized should be individuals who have made vital contributions of outstanding significance to the fields of restorative justice.


Award Criteria

The award shall recognize individuals for outstanding contributions to restorative justice education, research and/or practice. The nominee has:

  • made exemplary contributions to the understanding and application of justice;
  • demonstrated their understanding and commitment to the values of restorative justice in all aspects of their life;
  • advanced the principles of restorative justice;
  • made a difference in the lives of other individuals and/or the community at large; 
  • promoted communication and healing in their program, service or community work; 
  • utilized inclusive and collaborative processes in their work; and/or,
  • mentored people in the restorative justice fields.

The recipient of this award will be recognized for their accomplishments and contribution to the field of restorative justice during the plenary session of the Northwest Justice Forum on Thursday, May 10, 2018.

Lifetime Achievement Award

Background: 

The Northwest Justice Forum will annually honor a person for lifetime achievements in restorative justice when those people are brought to our attention. Those recognized should be individuals who have made vital contributions of outstanding significance to the field of restorative of justice. 


Award Criteria: 

The award shall recognize individuals for outstanding contributions to restorative justice education, research,, and/or practice.  The nominee has: 


Made exemplary contributions to the understanding and application of restorative justice over an entire career with a definable body of work through one or more of the following:

  • Public Speaking
  • Teaching/Training
  • Research
  • Collaborative Work
  • Publications
  • Professional Practice

Embodied the principles and practices of restorative justice within their personal and professional lives.


Mentored people in the restorative justice fields.


Been a living role model who inspires others.


Worked in the best interest of the greater good.


Advanced the field of restorative justice nationally and/or internationally.
